Up in Tangles

from Becoming Unravelled by Aaron Gibson

/

lyrics

Always winding up in tangles
ends of the rope are so hard to find
my psyche slips, eager to circumvent the madness
in this tousled mass of twine
there’s a great celestial balance
just a pinch of what I want and more
first, I’ll attempt to conquer this here challenge
and take one step out into this storm

in time you will rain on both kinds of men
in time you will rain on all of them

so why should I be any different
what makes me think if I serve willingly
I’d be exempt from any sadness
an easy life’s not what you asked of me
so, I’ll expect that I might get wet
from time to time filled with uncertainty
about my horizon when the darkness closes in
but I know that you’ll cover me
I know that you’ll cover me

in time you will rain on both kinds of men
in time you will rain on all of them
in time you will reign all of them
